Everyone has different ways to cope with bad news. Some people cry. Some people bottle it up. Others carry on as if nothing happened (strong on the outside, sad on the inside). The Simpson's are a different breed. Or so we like to think. In the face of a Stage IV diagnosis, we all reacted differently. As the crier in the family, I took one for the team. And eventually, we have been able to get back on our 'in your face' ways and constantly abusing one another. Cancer schmancer. If anyone has it beat, it's Dad.
But one thing that got us all through was the following statement: ONE DAY AT A TIME.
And today, my friends, we got good news. Davey's lesions have shrunk.
Even if it's just for this week. Even if next month it gets worse. ONE DAY AT A TIME. with today being a GOOD day
